District approves 2013-14 calendar

The future is set for students and teachers in the South Whidbey School District.

The school board Wednesday evening adopted the calendar for the 2013-14 school year.

The first day of school is Tuesday, Sept. 3, and the last day Wednesday, June 18, 2014.

The school year could extend longer though as Jan. 19 and 20 were designated as possible snow makeup days.

Students on the Class of 2014 will graduate June 14, 2014.

Other noteworthy dates include winter break, from Dec. 23 through Jan. 3, and spring break April 7 through April 11.
