Students of the Whidbey Evangelical Free Church in Greenbank work hard during their service project at Smith Field. Youths from the church experienced a busy weekend when they participated in the “30 Hour Famine” project sponsored by World Vision.

The students, who are in grades six through 12, raised more than $2,600 to help hungry people in Haiti.  The students found sponsors who donated to the fundraising effort, while the youths endured going without food for 30 hours.  During this time they helped at the Pacific Rim Institute for Environmental Stewardship in Coupeville by planting native vegetation.
