Published October 5, 2007

The family of Charles Endres would like to announce his passing on Oct. 5, 2007 to those who knew him over the course of his long life.

“Chuck” was born July 30, 1918 and grew up in the Georgetown area of Seattle, and attended Cleveland High School. He then went on to work at Boeing through the war years.

Chuck and his wife Helen discovered the natural beauty of Whidbey Island in 1947 and began vacationing at the Maxwelton Beach Resort. In 1958, they brought their family to their favorite vacation spot and continued to live on Maxwelton Beach for the next 42 years.

Chuck’s island activities included the American Legion, Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun Club, his love of the beach and all things nautical.

Charles William Endres will be remembered with love by his wife Helen of 67 years, their children, Tom and wife Juel of Shoreline; Gary of Freeland; Debbie of Langley; Steven of San Francisco, Calif.; Kimberly and husband Don Pratt of Scatchet Head, and Scott and wife Leina of Clinton. Their children brought them seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family requests donations be made to Enso House or the EMTs of Whidbey General.
