Virginia Abbie Proffitt, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully passed away
Dec. 10, 2008, just 11 days shy of her 90th birthday.
Born in Seattle to Leopold and Bertha Maynard, she spent her childhood on Harbor Island and in the Kent valley where she graduated from Kent High School.
Virginia is survived by her loving husband, James L. Proffitt; her son Dale (Sandra) Proffitt, daughter, Terry (Richard) Smith and her grandchildren Ann D. Proffitt, Ian Proffitt, Alan (Melanie) Proffitt, Abby (Sam) Salsman, Kyle (Jodi) Smith and great-grandchildren, Kelsey Severson, Geneve Proffitt and Conan Dexter Proffitt; brother Warren, and sisters Georgia and Eileen, as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends and neighbors.
“Don’t grieve for me now I am free. I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call; I turned my back and left it all.”
A memorial service will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18 at Beck’s Funeral Home, 405 5th Ave. S, Edmonds, WA 98020;
