Mary Lou Overturf

Mary Lou Overturf

Celebrate Mary Lou Overturf’s life at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.

Share with us how Mary Lou’s life unfolded, touching each of us uniquely. Born in 1927, Mary Lou’s father left when she was 5 years old. Even though she was in the jaws of the Great Depression and extreme poverty, her mother saw to it that Mary Lou got ballet lessons.

At 16, she showed enough promise that the Bolshoi (Russian) Ballet Co. asked her to audition. Her mother warned her it would be a lonely life. Little did they know she would meet Clancy, her soul mate, just a year later.

They loved well for seven decades. That continues still, amidst the gardens of paradise. Imagine her smiling into the face of Jesus, touching the hand of God and saying the words Clancy has heard every day: “I love you.”

We will celebrate memories at 2 p.m. at Deer Lagoon Grange, 5142 Bayview Road, Langley, WA, 98260 (near Bayview).

If you can carpool or park on the lawn, that will help with limited parking area.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army. Mary Lou always thought they were tops.
