Margaret Mary Moreno

Margaret Mary Moreno, nee Rochon, 44, longtime Oak Harbor resident, died at her home on Monday, July 28, 2008, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Ms. Moreno was born in Seattle on Feb. 16, 1964, to Hector Rochon and Geraldine (Brooks) Rochon. She was raised on Vashon Island, where she graduated from high school.

Margaret attended South Seattle Community College, studying the culinary arts. Margaret cherished the country life — baking, raising chickens, gardening and her farmers market participation.

Margaret was the beloved mother of James and Jonathan Moreno, both of Langley, and Michael, Sophia, Isabella and Dylan, all at home; her parents, Hector and Geraldine Rochon of Oak Harbor; 11 siblings, Sandra Rochon of Kenmore, Linda Stuart (Michael) of Seattle, David Rochon (Deborah) of Lake Stevens, Rene Rochon of Belfair, Marie Gaylord (Richard) of Quilcene, Desmond Rochon (Leah) of Blaine, Annette Rochon (David King) of Dana Point, Calif., Frances Madden (Fred) of Livingston, Mont., Elizabeth Levesque (Ray) of Bellingham, Victoria Wakefield (Rusty) of Kenmore and Andrew Rochon (Karen) of Kingston; also, numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday,

July 30 at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
