Sewer talks start Monday

Two nights of public meetings regarding the city of Langley’s intent to sewer several neighborhoods currently on septic service will give city residents a chance to air their viewpoints on what promises to be an expensive project.
On Monday, residents living on First Street, Third Street and in the Saratoga Road area will meet at Langley City Hall to talk over their possible future with sewers. On Tuesday night, Edgecliff-area residents will meet at the Langley Methodist Church for a similar gathering. Both meetings begin at 7 p.m.
Also on those days, for residents who want to learn more about how their property values may be affected by new sewer lines, financial analyst Jim Lema will on hand at Langley City Hall between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to answer questions about a special benefits analysis he did for the city regarding the proposed sewer expansion.
Members of the city’s sewer extension committee will be at the meetings, as well as members of the Langley City Council.
