Letter: Fact is, inmate’s actions put his own life at risk

Editor,
Regarding the case of Keaton Farris: The truth, as cold and hard as it is to hear, this criminal put himself in danger repeatedly which ultimately caused his death. Yes, he had rights as a criminal, however, he himself violated those rights in and out of jail multiple times. I believe the focus is on him. Had he made different choices, he would likely be here today. In our understaffed and underpaid justice system, our society gets what it pays for. Too bad we can’t expect criminals to take responsibility for their choices as we who aren’t criminals absolutely have to do every day, not just our own responsibilities but those of criminals as well through government and taxes.
