Winning its third straight match – all league contests, the South Whidbey High School tennis team moved into first place in the North Sound Conference.

The Falcons posted a wind-swept win over host Coupeville 4-1 Tuesday, April 9, to remain unbeaten in league play with a 3-0 record (3-2 overall).

South Whidbey is a half game ahead of King’s (2-0, 3-0) in NSC play. The two teams were scheduled to meet in Langley Thursday, but the match was postponed.

South Whidbey goes to Friday Harbor (0-2, 0-2) at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18.

Singles; 1, Farriss Jokinen won 6-3, 6-4; 2, Ashley Ricketts won 6-0, 6-1.

Doubles: Mary Zisette/Alison Papritz won 6-2, 6-1; 2, Ainsley Nelson/Elizabeth Simmons won 6-3, 6-3; 3, Erin Brewer/Oliana Stange lost 6-4, 7-6(7-5), 13-11.
