    The 42-year-old Langley woman (whose name is pronounced car-in) and lifelong artist opened Blueschool Arts in Clinton, just off the highway and a block away from the commercial area in October 2014. The bright blue building is part studio, part classroom, part event center.

    A fire significantly damaged a Clinton home Thursday afternoon.

    South Whidbey Fire/EMS firefighters responded to reports of a home on fire on Central Avenue in Clinton, less than 500 feet from the fire protection district’s Clinton station. Firefighters responded quickly to knock down the flames that Deputy Chief Jon Beck said is believed to have started in an upstairs bedroom.
