Open Door expands space

Due to a success in sales, The Open Door Gallery + Coffee is taking over Bay 2 at the Bayview Cash Store on a permanent basis.

The gallery had rented the space temporarily, but will now keep the space since Goosefoot Community Fund did not find another tenant.

Keeping Bay 2 as part of The Open Door means room for six to eight additional island artists to exhibit their work, Goosefoot officials said. The gallery will have curated shows with work rotating regularly.

The Open Door Gallery + Coffee will also offer several workshops each month.

Currently, classes in reverse painted glass, creating gourd vessels, working with the Holga camera, beginning ceramics and bookbinding are scheduled.

The gallery can be reached at 321-3020 or opendoorwhidbey@gmail.com.
