A hydroplane vessel races in Oak Harbor Bay Sept. 10. Whidbey residents flocked to the Oak Harbor shoreline this weekend to watch hydroplanes race around the bay. More than 30 competitive race heats took place Sept. 9 and 10, supplemented by a beer garden, car show and Navy demonstrations.
