Letter: District right to stand ground on equity, diversity

Editor,

I am encouraged by the strength and integrity that the South Whidbey School Board, superintendent and the rest of the staff at the school district are displaying in staying strong in efforts to focus on and promote equity and diversity.

Thank you for not dialing down to appease those challenging this necessary growth and greater awareness.

Also, the young people in United Student Leaders at the high school give me so much hope for the future. Strength and courage are needed in these tough times. You all offer a powerful example for students in our community.

Thanks, all of you, for staying strong and continuing to do the right thing for our students and for all of humanity.
