Editor,
I couldn’t allow Fred Wilferth’s glowing description of Trump as a successful businessman (March 8 letter to editor) go unchallenged. A little research reveals that Trump has filed for corporate bankruptcy six times, including three of his casinos.
A little more research reveals that running a casino into bankruptcy takes real talent. Casinos are traditionally amazing money-makers, in which the odds are always with the house; a person would have to work very hard to run one into the ground. Super businessman Trump has run three into bankruptcy. And the way his second term is going, the big guy looks to be running the country into the ground, too.
If this is what you define as success, Fred, I shudder to think what failure must be.
