Listen up, emerging rocker fans.

One day, when you are very old and feeble — say age 30 for example — a competitive and somewhat annoying friend will ask you what was your first-ever rock concert?

It is a question for the ages and the answer will have untold reverberations for the rest of your young life.

You may be the coolest person in the room if your answer is “Langley Rocks!”

Thanks to a gang of talented South End youths who had the ingenious idea of inviting some of their equally musically talented local friends and some up-and-coming indie rocker peers for an all ages show in Langley, you’ll have a chance to perhaps be a part of history.

One never knows if and when a band skyrockets to fame and becomes the next Nirvana. Perhaps one day you’ll be able to say proudly, “Dude, I saw them when they played Langley way back in ’09.”

Langley Rocks! is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at Whidbey Children’s Theater, and all proceeds will benefit the theater.

The show features South Whidbey’s Electric Son with Cody Williams,

C.J. Williams and Erik Martin presenting original songs from their “grunge rock” style of music.

Eli Moore, also of Lake, brings together local musicians for his particular brand of “nothing-you’ve-ever-heard-before indie pop.”

Your Friend Since Ever features locals Preston Ossman, Noah Harris and Ian Marsanyi together for the first time with a lo-fi, indie treat for the audience.

Finally, the headliner, The Nextdoor Neighbors of Olympia, bring songs from a new release on the Olympia label Bicycle Records “Magic Vs Machine,” an electro-folk-hop journey into the netherworld between adolescence and adulthood.

Tickets are available in advance for $10 by calling 221-2282 or at the door for $12. Music, food, beverages and dancing are all a part of the benefit evening. Langley Rocks! is a drug/alcohol/smoking free event. All ages are welcome.
