Waltz down to Whidbey Children’s Theater’s 100 Acre Wood to see “Winnie-the-Pooh-the Musical” opening Friday, April 27.

Bring the whole family to the dramatization of the classic storybook by A.A. Milne as directed by Ken Martinez.

With an adaptation by Kristin Sergel and music by Allan Jay Friedman, “Winnie- the-Pooh-the Musical” stays very close to the spirit of the beloved 1928 books. Stories such as when Pooh rides a balloon to reach the honey pot or Piglet being captured by Kanga and is forced to take a bath will delight youngsters of all ages. Winnie-the-Pooh, the famous bear of “Very Little Brain,” is singing happily that, “Isn’t it funny how a bear likes honey,” when the “terrible” trouble begins. Kanga comes to the forest with soap for baths and spoonfuls of Strengthening Medicine. Something must be done!

The cast features an energetic team of elementary school age thespians including Drew Aposhyan as Owl, Rowan Stephens as Rabbit, Callum Cassee as Pooh, Kaidyn Brinks as Eeyore,  Sera Lang-Elfrank as Roo and Rowan Dickerson as Christopher Robin.

The veteran production team includes set design by Cameron Gray, set construction and lighting design by Rod Stewart, stage manager Ahna Dunn-Wilder, production manager Cait Cassee and costume design by Jody Harrison.
