A proposal to allow the city’s Parks and Open Space Commission to conduct public hearings on a draft parks and open space plan was approved by the Langley City Council at its meeting Monday night.

Since its reconstitution in 2008, the Parks and Open Space Commission has been at work on proposed changes to the city’s comprehensive plan.

Under the previous provisions of the city code, hearings on the plan were the responsibility of the Langley Planning Advisory Board, but planning officials said the Parks and Open Space Commission should conduct hearings, since it created the plan.
