Langley giveaway winners awarded gift prizes

Several people left Langley as winners after the Very Merry Christmas Giveaway and Deck the Doors contest results were announced at a gathering recently. With about 150 people crowding Boy and Dog Park on First Street, more than $4,000 of cash and gift prizes was handed out. Barbara Mindahl of Sandy Point won the $1,000 giveaway, which had raffle tickets entered for every $20 spent at participating stores in Langley.

With about 150 people crowding Boy and Dog Park on First Street, more than $4,000 of cash and gift prizes was handed out. Barbara Mindahl of Sandy Point won the $1,000 giveaway, which had raffle tickets entered for every $20 spent at participating stores in Langley. Five other raffle ticket holders — Barbara Lawlas, Kate Nunn, Philip Dubois, Cindy Arklin and Gordy Frederickson — won gift baskets stuffed with goods from shops in the city.

Langley Main Street Association’s Deck the Doors contest crowned three winning shops: Melissa Brown and Ben Courtreau of Flying Bear Farm created the “Apple Orchard” adornments for The Braeburn Restaurant on Second Street, Fair Trade Outfitters owners Lilly and Barry van Gerbig’s “Gifts of Langley” decorations, and Diane Kaufman’s “Let it Snow” at Ott & Murphy Wine Tasting Room.
