“Live music, dance, art, theater and wholesome food and Living juice are all part of Life Connection, a Sustainable Technology Benefit for Bayview Hall taking place on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 7 p.m.-2 a.m. at Bayview. The popular bands Local Buddha, SuperKali, New Vibrational Movement, Basement Nation, Jah Breeze and Steel Theatre will provide electric music. Loren Churchill and Larry Dobson will perform theater pieces. Tom Giffin will present an art display, and Cherri Anne Forrest, founder of the Geo-Celebrate Project, will feature the Ecstatic Connections show from the Dream Of Our Regeneration. Wholesome food and fresh juice is being prepared by Living Green, with a portion of profits donated to Bayview. Many of us on Whidbey are coming together as a community to solve the social and ecological crises of our time in our unique setting, organizers said. Life Connection, a new grassroots movement, seeks to assist this process through education, empowerment and implementation. By basing this and future events on a foundation of giving (in the spirit of local indigenous traditions), Life Connection will provide a positive, regenerative model of energy exchange. The venue, sound equipment, and all artists and promotional materials for the Bayview benefit event are being donated, with Brown Bear even providing the Port-o-Potties. Admission is $8, but patrons are welcome to donate more, as all money generated at the door will be used to purchase visible, earth-friendly (wind/solar) energy technology for a solar refit of Bayview Community Hall. There are also discounts available: $2 for carpooling, $2 for a food bank donation. No one will be turned away due to money challenges. Children of all ages are welcome. For Information on ways to get involved with Life Connection e-mail lifeinfusion@hotmail.com or call Bret Coleman and Sarah Grant at 321-5453.
