Long-term plan released by WSDOT

The Washington State Department of Transportation has released a 20-year plan for expanding and integrating all modes of public transportation in the state. The plan, released June 29, is an updated blueprint of WSDOT’s plans for public transit moving forward as the state’s population continues to grow. Washington has a projected population growth of more than 25 percent over the next 20 years, WSDOT’s website says.

The extensive plan includes a set of near-term actions that could be carried out in the current biennium.

WSDOT is slated to produce the first progress report in December 2017, a news release stated.
