“Photo: Artists with feats of clay will show and sell their work in an exhibit of the same name at the CyberC@fe this weekend.Fifteen Whidbey Island potters will take their hands (and feet) out of the clay to greet the public in a show at the Whidbey CyberCafe opening Friday, July 21.A wine and cheese reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. The show, named Feats of Clay, continues on Saturday and Sunday, July 22-23, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. both days.The potters will show and sell pieces including masks, sculptures, wheel-thrown plates, hand-built teapots, raku and pit fired vessels, textured vases, delicate porcelain tea bowls and many others.Among the artists are Jackie Amatucci, Sarah Christensen, Marlene LaGasse, Sue Lashley, Manitta Foster, Shelley Marsanyi, Judy Skoczen, Sharon Warwick and Ester Winton. Special guest artists will include several nationally known potters who call Whidbey their home: Carole Ann Bauer, Diane Baxter, Joe Pirog, Karin Thompson and Pete Wolf.The artists with Feats of Clay are all members of the Clay Space, a community studio in Scatchet Head owned and operated by Pete Wolf and open to anyone interested in renting space on a monthly basis or in taking classes.
