Shredding event benefits Soroptimist endeavors

Savibank in Freeland and Soroptimist international of South Whidbey Island are holding a shredding event 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday Aug. 22.

Members of Soroptimist will be accepting boxes and sacks containing documents and letters for shredding at a nominal fee. Proceeds from the event will help support the club’s scholarships and local programs.

Participants who bring items for shredding will have a chance to vote on the most creative, fun loving hat made and worn by the club’s members.
