Cancer treatment and patients got a bit of aid from a fundraiser at the Useless Bay Golf & Country Club recently.
The 15th annual cancer fundraising golf tournament drew 84 women who raised $7,300 for the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation. It will go toward the purchase of a software system to help cancer patients navigate their treatment and care.
Let’s Drive Out Cancer was the theme for this year’s tournament. Pink was once again the color of choice; flags, flag sticks, holes, wearing apparel and decorations were all pink.
In a news release, organizers thanked club members, staff, guests and local businesses for donating their time, money and support.
