A minivan driver preparing to leave the ferry MV Cathlamet this past Saturday night suddenly glanced off two other vehicles, brushed a ferry worker and ran into a bulkhead of the vessel, a Washington State Ferries spokeswoman said.

Details were sketchy, but the van’s accelerator apparently stuck, said Linda Lacombe, ferry service customer service manager.

The incident occurred at about 8:20 p.m. as the Cathlamet approached the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal on its run from Clinton.

Lacombe said the ferry worker was knocked down, but didn’t require medical attention, and the van continued on its way, after the Washington State Patrol was notified.

She said the extent of the damage to the vehicles was undetermined, but seemed minimal.
