“There’s a new Web site about Whidbey Island history, based on diaries and photographs dating between 1904 and 1921.The diaries were kept by Frederick Charles Adams, a native of Boston, who made repeated visits to relatives at Oak Harbor, San de Fuca and Coupeville early in the last century. Adams was an amateur photographer who developed and printed his own work. The Web site contains more than 50 images, including photos of people, places and scenery, plus newspaper clippings, advertisements and other documents. The diary entries mention many people Adams met and describe everyday activities and special events. The Web site’s author is Adams’ granddaughter Judy Farris. After visiting Whidbey Island in August 2000, she felt that the Whidbey material she had would interest current residents. Farris invites comments and questions; e-mail her through Whidbey Island history. “
