Whidbey newspapers seek iconic winter photos

Whidbey News Group is holding a contest to find a cover photo for its seasonal visitor magazine, Winter on Whidbey & Camano. Due to the success of the 2013 reader-photo contest, we decided to host the competition again this year. We’re looking for iconic images that tell the story of life in Island County between October and March.

Due to the success of the 2013 reader-photo contest, we decided to host the competition again this year. We’re looking for iconic images that tell the story of life in Island County between October and March.

Scenics, events, fun stuff to do — anything and everything that says, “This is the place to visit this winter.”

The rules are simple. Pictures must depict life on Whidbey or Camano islands, be less than two years old and should be at least 1 megabyte in size. Vertical images are preferred but horizontal images are allowed. Deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8.

Photographer of the winning image will receive a check for $100 and all bragging rights associated having their shot on the cover of the 2014 Winter on Whidbey & Camano.

Submit entries by sending them to Justin Burnett at jburnett@whidbeynews

By entering this contest, you acknowledge that Whidbey News Group may or may not opt to publish submitted images. Entries should include name of the photographer, information about the photo (who, what, where and when) and a contact email address.
