Arnold Francis Pretz of Palos Verdes Estates (48 years) and Langley (5 years) went to join Jesus on June 19, 2018.

He was born in Santa Monica, Calif. on April 18, 1939 to Arnold Joseph Pretz and Helen Eves. He graduated from Harvard Military Academy in 1960. He then attended the University of Southern California where he graduated with a bachelor of science in business and met his sweetheart and wife, Malinda Howell of Pasedena, Calif. at one of the ATO fraternity gatherings. They were married on March 18, 1962 (St. Patrick’s Day).

Arnold served as CEO of the family business, West Coast Trimming. This year they celebrated their 57th anniversary. Arnold is survived by his wife Malinda, his children Melissa Pretz (Joe Steilling) and Arnold Francis Pretz II. He is also survived by his two granddaughters Natalie Joy and Brooke Hope. A celebration of life for Arnold will be held on Aug. 28 at 3 p.m. at the Baby Island Saratoga Club. Donations can be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
