Chris Jones, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on April 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and unforgettable stories. Known for his incredible memory and gift for storytelling, Chris could bring moments from the past vividly to life, always with warmth, humor, and heart. A devout Catholic, Chris lived his life guided by compassion, humility, and a deep belief in the importance of forgiveness and unity. He often reminded those around him, especially his family, that life is too short for lingering resentments and that harmony should always be pursued.
Chris was a founding coach for Burke Mountain Academy, where he played a pivotal role in shaping not only athletes but also young people of character and determination. His mentorship extended far beyond the slopes, and he remains a deeply admired influence in the lives of many former students whose achievements and values reflect the guidance he so generously offered.
During his years living in Colorado and California, Chris built a successful career as a farrier, tending to horses with the same care and attention he gave to everything in life. He was also a gifted artist in metalwork—his blacksmithing was both functional and beautiful, and many of his friends are fortunate to have pieces of his craftsmanship in their homes, cherished not only for their artistry but for the heart behind them.
Chris was loved by all who knew him. He was incredibly gregarious—strangers were just friends he hadn’t met yet. He had a natural ease in conversation. Whether it was a quick chat in line at the store or a deep heart-to-heart with an old friend, time spent with Chris always left people feeling better than before.
He is survived by his brother Glen and his three daughters—Robin, Sara Cate and Emily, —who carry forward his gentle spirit and love for others. Chris also shared a special bond with his dog, Happy, who was always by his side. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered for his infectious smile, the love he gave, the stories he shared, and the example he set.
May he rest in peace.
