Della Sklar: September 9, 1925 – November 11, 2021

Della Faye Sklar, 96, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 11, 2021. She lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and David Smith, in Oak Harbor, Washington since August of 2014. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerome; one son, Donald; 2 daughters; Pamela and Jenelle and 9 siblings.

Faye was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on Sep. 9, 1925. Her family moved to the San Joaquin Valley in California when she was 14. The family eventually settled in San Diego where Faye married, raised a family, pursued a career in aeronautics and retired, poolside, in El Cajon. Faye found happiness in her church, family, friends and music. Faye was a performer at heart. She loved to sing. She was an active member of the Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association where she performed regularly until the COVID-19 shutdown.

Faye is survived by her daughter, Sharon; 8 grandchildren; 22 great grand-children and 19 great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to help cover final expenses would be appreciated and can be made at https://everloved.com/life-of/della-sklar/donate/

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on December 30, 2021 at Oak Harbor Assembly of God at 319 SW 3rd St. in Oak Harbor.
