Edward G. Allen: Febuary 15th, 1936 – December 31st, 2022

ADJCS (NAC) Edward G. Allen, eighty-six passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Peace Health Medical Pavilion in Anacortes on December 31st, 2022. He was a decorated Navy veteran who flew in the skies over Vietnam as a P-3 Flight Engineer and served twenty-six honorable years on active duty before retiring in April 1980.

Edward was born on February 15th, 1936 in Yakima to his parents Edward Allen and Sylvia Allen (Seward). When he was just eighteen, Edward decided he wanted to join the Navy and this decision would lead him across the globe on various deployments and duty stations. It was during his service in Japan that Edward met and married his lasting love, Yoshie and together they would raise their three children. His love of the outdoors would influence the decision to establish a home in Oak Harbor where he would reside for the next 42 years. After retiring, he enjoyed the outdoors fishing, crabbing and hunting always finding time to spend with his family, friends and his and his six grand and five great grandchildren as well as the assortment of small animals that resided in his yard.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents Edward and Sylvia his wife Yoshie, sisters Liota Grimm, Angie Johnson and Willma Allen. He is survived by his children Eddie Allen, Candy Neumann, and Anita McIntyre. A funeral service will be held at Wallin Stucky Funeral Home on Monday January 9th , 1pm with a reception to immediately follow. Military honors will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA at a later date.
