Edward Pierce, 67, died Nov. 6, 2003, at home after a valiant battle with liver cancer.

His life reflected the values he came to know and accept as a young adult, an accomplished jockey and professional horse trainer, a father, provider, and grandfather to grandchildren that he adored. His family recalls him as a wonderful, caring, nurturing man who touched many lives and who will be in their hearts forever.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; four children, Pam Westergard, Cyndi Fairbrook, Eddie Pierce and his wife Mary, and Curtis Pierce and his wife Kelly; a sister, Susan Bungard, in California; and six grandchildren, Schena, Justin, Ryan, Colton, Jason and Capri.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Assembly of God Church, Langley.
