James “JO” Oliver Riley: August 13, 1925 – December 22, 2022

James (JO) Riley, son of Charles and Anna Riley, passed away December 22, 2022, at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mt. Vernon, WA.JO was a resident of Oak Harbor, WA for over 50 years. He grew up in Bainbridge, New York before joining the US Navy. He retired in 1963 after a successful career as an Aviation Ordinanceman, and Chief Petty Officer and settled in Oak Harbor. JO then opened and ran G&G Upholstery for many years. JO was the Camp Host for the Howard Miller Steelhead Park until he retired from there 3 years ago. His passion for talking was evident in the many friends he made both there and at the Oak Harbor Elks Lodge. His dedication has always been to the Elks and their charitable functions.

He is survived by his endearing companion of 50 years, Fran Stewart, his daughter Pat Cooper, daughter-in-law, Amanda Stewart, grandson Geof Jones (Kelly), and granddaughter Brianna Jones (Rich) with two great, great, great grandchildren. There was a PER Memorial at the Elks Lodge on Tuesday, January 3rd at 4:00 pm. JO was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
