Jane Ann (Brotnov) Kerkhoven, 62, of Freeland, passed away on June 19, 2008, at Whidbey General Hospital.

She was born on May 2, 1946 and adopted at birth by Mary (Hoyer) and Kenneth Brotnov of Seattle.

On June 10, 1978, Jane married Cornelis H. Kerkhoven of Seattle. They spent 30 years together in everything from gardening to working in construction.

Jane’s last 10 years were dedicated to her beautiful flower gardens and her kittens.

She loved dance. In her younger days, Jane participated in ballet and modern dance. She was regularly involved in water aerobics where she made many friends.

Jane is survived by her loving husband; daughter, Lynnea Barton; two grandsons, Brandon Heidemann and Kyle Barton; and her brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Jackie Brotnov, all of Seattle.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held. Whidbey Memorial Funeral and Cremation Service is making arrangements.
