Louis Ekorenrud

Louis S. Ekorenrud, Jr. 83, died from complications of a broken hip Aug. 16, 2012. He will be missed terribly by his loving wife, Marilou, five children, Laurel, David, Hollie, Heather and Janna, six grand kids, 12 great grandchildren and many other relatives.

Louie and Marilou were married for 63 years and made their home in the north end of Seattle and, during retirement, on Holmes Harbor on Whidbey Island.

Louie was past president of the Northwest Shoe Travelers and made lifelong friends with all his shoe buddies. His great love was golf and he played in his youth at the Olympic Golf Course and for Ballard High School. During his retirement he played golf five days a week at Useless Bay Country Club and shot a hole-in-one on the seventh hole. He loved to teach kids how to snow ski at Stevens Pass and water-ski in front of our home.

Louie was surrounded by a big happy family and lived a wonderful life. He will be remembered every day in our hearts and with stories and laughter when we are all together.

A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Edmonds Senior Center located at 220 Railroad Ave. Donations can be made to the Evergreen Golden Retriever Rescue, P.O. Box 3088, Renton, WA. 98056.
