Marie Rowe

Marie H. Robinson Rowe was born Nov. 30, 1919 in Seattle to Mat and Anna Robinson.

She was married 60-plus years, and widowed three years. She went dancing with her beloved husband Gordon on Aug. 8, 2007, leaving three daughters; Pat (Tom) Neva, Lynn Hunt and Susan (Curtis) Baker.

She is also survived by grandkids Keith and Dana Hunt, Shannon and Tom Neval, Annalisa (Justin) Rook and Eric Flister; great-grandkids Alexis and Destiny Hunt, Dominic Neva, Skylar and Ryalyn Rook; step grandkids the Baker Boys Eldon (Crystal Campbell), Chuck (Kellie), Matt, Reuben (Jennifer) and Kim (Caspian) Kushnereit; step great-grandkids Kohl Baker; Addy, Gavin and Kaylie Baker; Zander, Baylie and Carlie Kuschnereit.

Mom beat TB, drowning, fought cancer, but lost her battle with liver failure. She was proud of her 87 years; she expected 90.

She was a proud member of Occidental No. 28 Order of the Eastern Star (OES) for 60-plus years, Past Worthy Matron of Langley OES, Past Mother Advisor IORG, Girl Scout leader, Golden Bear of Ballard High (1939) Daughters of the Nile, Nidia.

She was known to all the shooters at the shooter shack at Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun Club as the cookie lady. She loved to keep score for the shooters, and every Thursday she would make cookies and take them to the shack.

Mom would check in all the kids at the annual kids fishing derby, who some remembered as the lady with the fish hat.

She was an avid volunteer of her time and talent. There were not many times that you would see her without her needles and yarn, working on those towels.

Please join us at the Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun Club at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 for remembering our Mom and dinner after the service.
