Rolland Oliver Vernon Lee, 90, of Freeland, died Feb. 3, 2005, at his home. He was born July 28, 1914, in Echo, Ore.
He married Hanna June Sept. 14, 1953 in Anacortes.
Mr. Lee became a conscientious objector while in combat in the Pacific Theater of World War II. After having read the publications of Jehovah’s Witnesses and receiving an honorable discharge, he spent the rest of his life as a dedicated witness engaging in the door-to-door ministry. He supported his family by working at a number of trades. He loved honest work, his family and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Hanna June Lee of Freeland; sons Rolland O.H. Lee of LaConner, Daniel Steven Lee of Winchester, and John Philip Lee of Freeland; sister Rosamond Branch of Silverdale; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private service in memory of Mr. Lee.
