Ruth Amundson

Ruth “Rudy” Amundson (Case), 83, passed away peacefully in her home in Spokane on Oct. 6, 2007, with her family by her side.

Ruth was born in Riverton, Wash., on May 20, 1924.

She was raised in Des Moines and graduated from Highline High School in 1942, where she was a cheerleader. Ruth had the voice of an angel and was active in the church and school choir and later sang in a dance band.

Ruth and Herb Steckman were married in 1944 and had two children, Jeri and Cliff. They were married for 24 years.

On May 6, 1973, Ruth and Larry Amundson were married and settled on Whidbey Island, where they lived for 34 years.

Ruth had many friends at the Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun Club and was loved by all. She is joining Marion and Rollin Case and Jeannie and Bill Case in heaven.

Ruth is survived by her husband Larry Admundson and her beloved and loyal dogs Maddy and Sarsi. Loving and missing her is daughter Jeri Hughes; son, Cliff Steckman; sisters, Marion Cunningham, Helen Gilmore and Margaret Anderson; grandchildren, Michael Hughes, Kelly Gibson, Holly and Jaime Steckman; great-granddaughter Chloe Gibson, as well as several nieces and nephews. We will miss your beautiful smile “Rudy.”
