Silvana Dominica Regnani Sims, known as Sissy by all, age 49 of Clinton (and very recently of Oak Harbor), died suddenly and quite unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at her home in her sleep.

She was born Aug. 1, 1963, in Yreka, Calif., to Aggie and Silvio Regnani. Sissy married Keith Sims on April 16, 1990 in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was a nurse’s aide for a great many years. She was well liked by her patients because of her big heart, infectious laugh and compassion for all. Sadly, her work took a toll on her and she ended up having a hip replacement at an early age and a body riddled with pain. She was on full disability at the time of her passing.

Sissy is survived by her husband, Keith Sims of Clinton, and her sister-in-law and best friend, Patricia Flanagan, also of Clinton. She is also survived by her sister, Maria “Snookie” Regnani Bishop of Anderson, Calif.; her brother, Silvio “Joe” Regnani, aso of Anderson; a nephew, Seamus Sims of Oak Harbor; and three nieces, Taylor Herring, Brianna Uecker and and Ruby Flanagan, all of Clinton. Sissy is preceded in death by her own parents, and her daughter, Kayla Gayle Sims.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2013, at Visser Funeral Home, 432 3rd St., Langley. Sissy will be cremated so that her ashes may join the graves of her daughter in Texas and her parents in California. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, they would prefer that you please make a donation toward the funeral expenses that the family has suddenly been faced with.
