Son, brother, cousin and friend Tod Ackley passed at age 64 at his home in Langley on Oct. 6, 2025 of natural causes related to heart disease. Born July 22, 1961 in Palo Alto, CA to Charles and Patricia Ackley (Goff), Tod (aka Bif Dangerfield) wore lots of hats for many years as a well-known and respected member of the South Whidbey arts community. He was a multi-talented musician, stage actor, sound and lighting technician, a blown and stained glass artist as well as a local volunteer firefighter and white-water rafting instructor. Tod loved his family, friends, the SF Giants, Grateful Dead, Leonard Cohen and Maxwell Smart. He is survived by brother Cameron Ackley of Mercer Island, WA, cousins Devin Cooper and Peggy Smith of Portland, OR and cousins Sharon Daviscourt of Seattle, Barbara McKinney of Yakima, WA and Robert Waldowski of Los Angeles, in addition to numerous second and third cousins. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Donations can be made in Tod’s name to his favorite charity, Good Cheer food bank and thrift store.
