Vivian V. Kielley, born Sept. 29, 1920 in Carleside, Alberta, Canada, passed away Feb. 9, 2009 at the family home in Edmonds with her daughter there.

She was the seventh child of Alick and Daisy Walker. She was 3 when the family moved to Seattle.

She worked for Sears and then the American Can Company during World

War II. In 1950 she went to work for the Seattle School District in the food service department, later she became the manager. She lived on Whidbey Island for 27 years.

She became very involved in painting, quilting, canning, entertaining, card games, sewing and family dinners.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 50 years, Roy Kielley and her son, Byron Kielley who passed away while serving our country in the Vietnam War.

She is survived by her daughter, Penny Matteson of Edmonds; grandsons Don and Darren Matteson and Tina Roberts; great-grandsons Cole, Ryker and Logan Matteson; sisters Bernice Benadom of Bellingham and Marjorie Severson of Mount Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was laid to rest at Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynnwood. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.
