Zadah Leona Thaves

Zadah Leona Thaves passed into the loving arms of her precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Jan. 15, 2006 at the age of 94.

Zadah was born on Oct. 20, 1911 near Dent, Minn., eldest of five children born to Leon and Effa Obert. She married Clarence Thaves on June 29, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minn. They moved to Richland, Wash. in 1943 where they raised their three daughters.

In 2000 Zadah relocated to the Warm Beach Community Center in Stanwood, where for six years she enjoyed the loving Christian environment in assisted living and for a brief period the gentle care of the nursing staff.

Zadah was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1991, by her brother Wallace in 1992, and sister Frances in 2004.

She is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Valley (Michael) of Modesto, Calif.; Marlene Knaplund (John) of Clinton; Carolyn Morris (Doug Dykstra) of Bothell. She is also survived by brother Donald Obert (Jean) of Desert Aire, Wash., and sister Eva Simmons (Melvin) of Clinton, as well as by eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Zadah will never be forgotten, and truly missed by family and friends. We love you mom!

Interment took place at Einan’s Cemetery in Richland on Jan. 18. A memorial service will be held at Beachwood in the Warm Beach Community Center at 20420 Marine Drive in Stanwood at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 29.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Billy Graham Ministries.
