Letter: Contrast between Trump, Obama could not be any greater

Editor,

During the first weekend of September we witnessed a memorial service for a Republican hero, U.S. Sen. John McCain. His valor, service, kindness and largeness of spirit is well documented and may not be seen again, especially in the Republican party.

Another great Democratic American, former President Barack Obama, broke with tradition by coming out to speak and encouraging Americans to vote.

If there is any doubt as to what a president should be, can be, was, we were reminded with Obama’s speech.

The contrast between Obama and Trump is immense.

Obama never puts forth concepts of nativism, false populism, racism, vileness, selfishness and cruelty.

If you needed a reason to vote in November, the difference between these two men should have convinced you of its importance.

Trump and his party need a rebuke of his means and methods, by Americans.

This opportunity may never be as important or as consequential as these mid-terms are. I hope anyone who reads this will vote.
