Langley Community Club President John Lawson was given the Mayor’s Excellence Award for his volunteer work in the Community Club, Men’s Club, Good Cheer and around town at the Langley City Council’s regular monthly meeting on Aug. 15.

“He shows up and he helps, and he’s a great quiet guy that gets things done,” Callison said.
