The Whidbey Island Fishin’ Club members and guests made a big splash during their annual food drive over the holidays.

There was $2,601 contributed in out-of-pocket donations and $3,345 worth of food purchased. The food was delivered to 20 South Whidbey families in need, including 33 adults and 61 children, on Dec. 21. The meals included a turkey, ham, and 48 assorted items which provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner to last for seven to 10 days. The club partnered with the Maj. Megan McClung Marine Corps League Detachment 1210 to deliver food and toys to many homes.
