Hearts & Hammers goes to work Saturday

Saturday, May 4, is the annual Hearts & Hammers workday. Volunteers gather at 7:45 a.m. at South Whidbey High School, 5675 Maxwelton Road, Langley, then head out to bring needed repairs to over 35 homes on South Whidbey.

Saturday, May 4, is the annual Hearts & Hammers workday. Volunteers gather at 7:45 a.m. at South Whidbey High School, 5675 Maxwelton Road, Langley, then head out to bring needed repairs to over 35 homes on South Whidbey.

Volunteers need to bring safety equipment such as gloves, goggles, protective shoes, a lunch and any tools the house captains have requested.

Young workers from age 12 to 15 are welcome to work with their parents with a medical release form, 16 to 17 year olds can work without parents but must have a medical release and parental permission form. Go to www.heartsandhammers.com to obtain a form to bring to your house captain.

Everyone, including homeowners, are invited back to the high school for a delicious dinner and a wrap up of the accomplishments of the day.
