Shedding light on conservation on Whidbey Island

Community members are invited to learn more about the Whidbey Island Conservation District and its community projects at an open house 3:30-5 p.m. May 17 at the Coupeville Library. For 49 years, the district has worked with Whidbey residents to help people responsibly and efficiently manage their land and natural resources. During the open house, members of the public can meet district staff and supervisors, learn more about how the they serve island residents, and join in honoring the accomplishments of several fellow community members.

During the open house, members of the public can meet district staff and supervisors, learn more about how the they serve island residents, and join in honoring the accomplishments of several fellow community members.

A time for networking and refreshments will begin at 3:30 p.m. The awards presentation for outstanding cooperators and partners will begin at 4 p.m., followed by an overview of the budget and work plan for fiscal year 2017.
