South Whidbey girls basketball lost two consecutive games to Archbishop Murphy, 58-26 on Jan. 12, and Lakewood, 48-39, on Jan. 15. The Falcons dropped to 5-8 overall and 3-5 in the Cascade Conference.

The Falcons are tied with Class 1A league competitor Cedar Park Christian after the Eagles’ recent victories over Sultan and Granite Falls. Both teams are battling for the second-seed in the Class 1A District 1 playoffs. If South Whidbey is able to beat out the Eagles, they will host the opening round against the Northwest Conference’s third-seed.
