Falcons nipped by Mariner / Volleyball

The South Whidbey volleyball team lost a close match to visiting 4A Mariner Tuesday, Sept. 10.

The Marauders eked out a 3-2 (20-25, 25-21, 25-16, 24-26, 15-13) win.

Emma Hodson led the offense with 16 kills; she also tallied three blocks. Arianna Briggs added seven kills and three blocks, while Maya Tschetter recorded 35 assists and five aces.

“(It) went pretty well,” coach Mandy Jones said. “Great starting point for the season.”

The Falcons (0-1) host Friday Harbor (0-1) at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17.
