Runners fall short at final state meet | FALCON CROSS COUNTRY

Competing at the Class 1A boys and girls cross country state championships in Pasco on Nov. 5, South Whidbey’s three competitors were unable to crack the top 25 or earn a state medal.

Senior Sophia Morgan finished the highest of the Falcons — 39th overall — after running the 5,000-meter course at Sun Willows Golf Course in 20 minutes and 43 seconds. Sophomore Callahan Yale placed 44th in the boys division with a time of 17 minutes and 18 seconds.

Freshman Flannery Friedman finished 85th after running the course in 21 minutes and 33 seconds.
