South Whidbey grad wins 3 gold / Pickleball

South Whidbey High School graduate Riley Newman swept the men’s open division at the Canadian National Pickleball Tournament June 27-30 at Kingston, Ontario.

Newman finished first in the men’s open singles, men’s open doubles with Steve Deakin and mixed open doubles with Catherine Parenteau.

Newman defeated Joseph Willemsen for the singles title, he joined with Deakin to top Matthew Kawamoto and Ernesto Fajardo in doubles and he teamed with Parenteau to top his doubles partner Deakin and Athena Trouillot in mixed doubles.
